Easter 5 Years Ago ~ Hello, Kambry Hope!

One the best Easters for our family was a true celebration of new life. Kambry Hope had been placed in our arms just days before. It was strange being away from our other children, family and church family on Easter, but it was a tangible picture of redemption, and the years that have followed have been filled with revelation.

Lord, I praise You for letting me be Mommy to this beautiful little girl.

I am overwhelmed by His goodness! It brought me to tears last night as I put the kids to bed. I don't deserve it; I can't fathom it; I am in awe of Him!

The girls continue to amaze us. Kasidi is allowing others to hold her, and Kennah is drawing closer to me. The girl l.o.v.e.s. her daddy ~ but who wouldn't?!? She once again started calling, "Mama, Maaaama" at 4 this morning...but we're making progress :)

The last two weeks of school are insane with 573 banquets and every other activity we can cram into a 10-day time span. With 8 days till we leave, I still have 2,852 trips to W*l-Mart, 1 graduation banquet, 2 graduations, 1 video to prepare, 1 book summary to write...ah well, you get it. All this craziness leading up to the glorious homecoming of our girls. I'm sure things will settle down once Kasidi and Kennah are home - bahahahahaha.

We managed to squeeze a celebration into our weird schedule, even if it was at 9 pm. Kambry Hope, you are a joy!

I should seriously be finishing up supper... folding laundry... getting ready for the football game... loading the car for our road trip tomorrow...probably cleaning up that kitchen in the background...and a million other things, but I couldn't resist this shot of Kambry playing her 'guitar' as Kenzie rocks to Britt Nicole. A video would have been much cuter, but...

School ...and a Recipe!

Yes, she's sleeping...standing up!

Three weeks of all-day Pre-K for a gal who does NOT take advantage of her Kinder Mat (oh, give me that mat!), has taken its toll. After emptying the trash can to find some good reading material she's had it!

That's kinda the way I feel after 2 hours of science and geography homework with my precious teen who doesn't understand a lick of what we're doing. I'm learning more than I even knew I forgot!

And now for the recipe. This is not mine ~ I got it from my friend Brandon, and it's so easy and yummy I have to share it!

Chicken & Rice

1 lb cooked, cubed chicken

1 cup rice, uncooked

1 package Lipton Onion Soup mix

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 cup water

Mix all ingredients and place in a greased 9x13 pan. Cover and bake at 350 for 1.5 hours or until rice is done, removing foil the last few minutes for browning.

*I doubled this, and it needed a little more water. But we ate it all - gulp! It was delicious!!! Thanks, Brandon!

Mahvelous!

We had a whirlwind weekend which included celebrating Kambry's 4th birthday at Grandma's house. Happy birthday, sweet girl!
