Princess Road Trip

Yesterday was Kennah's first appointment to meet her surgeon. So we made a day of it.
We snagged a little friend (Miss Emily).
And had lunch with a big friend (Thanks, Susan!).
Dr. Miller's nurse is so awesome she made 'little girl sized chairs' for the princesses.
"The wheels on the bus go round and round..."

Sorta like a tea party

Poor Emily saw her doctor earlier this week and was not interested in seeing another, so Mr. Clayton's lap was the safest place for her, thank.you.very.much.

And they all lived happily ever after, as princesses do.

Friday Night Lights...in the ER

Let me just say I praise the Lord we are home this morning! Last night's game was a bit more exciting than we'd hoped. We were one touch down from ending the game, and Kolton was making his third TD run down the field when he stumbled and fell just short of the goal line. He said he felt something pop and couldn't lift his leg to finish the drive.

Dad joined Kolton in the ambulance...and we followed in hot pursuit in the Beast. (Which I now think you could add flashing lights and it would serve as an ambulance. Or add a flip-out stop sign and it would serve as a bus. Or maybe it's the new Winnebego.)

At first the ER doc was talking about breaking or seperating the growth plate in his hip...and that just doesn't sound good. X-ray revealed there is no bone involvement and the plate is fine! (thank You, Jesus!)

He's apparently torn, strained or seperated muscle(s) near his hip bone. You can actually see it move. He's really bummed at the thought of finishing the season on the sidelines...but we are praising the Lord it's not any worse! We see the ortho team Monday to learn more...

By the way, the Devils did score the touchdown to end the game!

*Thank you to everyone who gathered Kolton's things, hung around waiting for the news, followed us to the ER, prayed for Kolton and offered to take our kids! We so appreciate each one of you!!!*

The Princess is in Her Castle!

What an amazing day! Thank you for praying for our girl!
We were to report to the hospital at 5:30 a.m., plan for a 3-hour surgery and an overnight stay.
After an hour and a half Dr. Miller came out to report the surgery was finished and Kinley had done so well he was releasing us to go home - yippee, Jesus!!!

The room is cold, the loopy juice hasn't kicked in and Daddy's tired.
What a trooper! She woke up with, "I love you, Mommy," and was happy to see Pillow Pet Puppy had been prepped for surgery cuz he wouldn't let her go alone!
Skip the Jello, skip the Sprite ~ just take me home!
Daddy packed up 'everything but the kitchen sink,' and we rushed home to surprise the waiting Krowd.
Miraculously, she's not fighting the splints. In fact, she kinda likes being spoon-fed by the Queen, waited on hand and foot by the King and entertained by the sibling princes and princesses.
And now, if you will excuse us, we are taking our royal selves to bed because we are headed back for a post-op visit tomorrow. But we are home, praise the Lord!

Doctor's Appointments, Round II (revised)

It's Monday! We have three appointments this week ...and a post-placement home study visit. Revision: Ya'll crack me up! This is like telling a joke and having to explain the punch line (which is the way most of my jokes turn out - lol). We have our first post-placement home study visit this week because as of April 8 Kooper and Kinley are home five months - really? There is no K number 9 on the horizon...yet. But I digress, so back to the original post~
Soon it will be Saturday, right?!?
The boys returned to the ENT today, and this is what we know:

Kaeleb's ears were still full of wax that's been there since-who-knows-when. The doctor removed it and said his ears are full of fluid, also since-who-knows-when. We are going to continue the ear drops and antibiotic and return later in April. If they are still full of fluid...well, we'll go from there.

Kooper has been on allergy meds for ten days and his sinuses are still nearly closed, so in two weeks he goes in for x-rays and an allergy analysis.

Tomorrow is simple, an orthodontist appointment. Wednesday, not so much.
Thank you for your prayers!
And that's where we are...

Doctor's Visits, Round I

Yesterday Kaeleb and Kooper had their ENT visit, and I'm happy to say it was better news than we expected! Not as much for Kaeleb ~ his ears are full of hard, flaky wax. His tonsils are very large, but until we remove the wax we don't know if his middle ear is full of fluid which could be contributing to his hearing issues and delayed speech (such technical terms - lol). So ear drops for him and back in two weeks.

Kooper's ears were not as bad and the doctor was able to clean them. His tonsils are small so no problem there. He took a hearing test and has perfect hearing! Dude, gonna have to find a new excuse for ignoring me cranking your MP3 and my computer volume! Doctor prescribed an allergy med and nasal spray for all the stuff in his sinuses and will also see him in two weeks.
He allowed me to take this picture for posting! He's so ticklish even the nasal spray gets him...

My three babies have been battling the crud this week. They've had a cough and fever for much of the week but are getting better. Some spring break!

Next week it's Kinley's cleft surgeon and Kenzie's dentist...and some sense of routine (Oh, how I love routine!!!!)
