What New Thing?

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
Isa 43:18-19

I love this passage!
It is so relevant.
I've been pondering a post on the effects of trauma, specifically repeated trauma in adopted/fostered children.
The effects can be devastating, lifelong, can bring hopelessness, brokenness and despair.
But then as I read God's Word, I gain perspective.
I am reminded that I should not look back and dwell on the past, especially when I know that God has unimaginably good things ahead.
As I enter a season of prayer, I am wondering if I can also pray for you.
Prayer changes people, and people change things!
It would be my privilege to lift your requests to the Lord.
If you would allow me to do so, please leave a comment or email me, and know that I will be faithful to intercede for you.

Thank you. This is just what is heavy on my heart right now. My dad just passed away suddenly. Although that is tough, I really can't put into words the feeling I have deep in my heart that yearns for New. We have struggled for a long time and I feel like the Lord is so faithful in providing for us and I have been able to encourage others with our story but lately I have been feeling like we are stuck in a rut. There are things I feel God is calling us to but they are just out of reach. Thank you for your prayers. Your family is in my prayers too! Your blog is such an encouragement and inspiration! sheri

Can you lift up for us to get our LOA for our newest girl? We are almost into the 120's (with agency error included we have waited over 150!! days) and it's so hard to know she waits:(

We totally trust in God's timing.

We adopted a precious daughter from foster care at the age of 2. She saw a lot of trauma in those first 2 years and we are now seeing the effects of it as she is turning 5. Please pray that we will have wisdom on how to parent a little girl with attachment issues. Thank you for sharing the passage of scripture. It reminds me there is hope...The past is over, and God has a new future for her!
