God has been working on our hearts about the orphan 'situation.' Did you know that nearly 27% of believers consider adoption but only 2% actually adopt? Staggering. I'm not a statistics kinda person, but when you factor in that there are over 147 million orphans worldwide and 2% of the Christian community is called to action....well, it doesn't add up. David Platt says, "We learned that orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they're not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes."
We've known their names, seen their faces, held them in our arms, heard their cries...and their silence. Everything has changed for us!

Oh, Connie, I am SO glad to finally see this posted on your blog. God is SO good and it amazes me how He continues to weave all of us together. The adoption community may be small, but we are definitely mighty. The world and global society benefit when we help orphan children. Instead of harming themselves and others, they grow up to be responsible, healthy, adults that give back to the community they live in instead of taking away from it. The good that is done, is generational.
It is important to help non-profit organization such as Orphan Life Foundation geared towards achieving one ultimate goal: Improving the lives of orphaned children because the world and global society benefit when we help orphan children.
