We are back in PICU, which is a good thing because Kasidi is under sedation till Saturday.
Of the 32 hours since surgery she's only been calm and flat less than 12.
She pulled her leads out today and bruised her pretty head flailing around.
Her incision started bleeding so finally action was taken!
We know her legs are working :).
Continue to pray for healing - bless you all!

As I was posting this, she woke up from sedation. You know, the sedation that's supposed to last till Saturday. That's been the problem, she hasn't rested more than an hour under any medication. That's why she's being sedated. And so after another hour long thrashing battle, she is resting again with increased meds.

Praying
Bless her!!! Continuing to pray, Connie! Praying for strength for you too!
Praying for calm and peace for baby Joy. It's so hard to stay so flat and so still after that surgery, especially for the little ones. The trauma caused to the muscles during the surgery always made them go into spasm and I just would be so restless. After other surgical procedures I've had, I've always watched movies, read books, played games, etc, in the hospital, but after my detetherings, I just wanted to sleep the hours away. At age 19, I took full advantage of all the muscle relaxants and pain meds they offered after my detethering, and when I was around school-age, I remember the surgeons prescribing anti-anxiety medications for those 3-4 days I had to lie flat. My grandmother is 87 and still vivify remembers how inconsolable I was after my first detethering when I was a year and a half old. I also pray the physicians will continue to be responsive and give sweet Joy the sedation she needs to stay still so her body can heal and there will be no spinal fluid leaks or other complications. Praise that she is so well cared for and not facing this trial alone. Praying for her mind to rest so her body can heal...
Oh my... I can't imagine how exhausted you must be. Prayers for you Both tonight.
Blessings,
Rebecca
