In honor of my 301st post, I'm having a giveaway! This is one of our favorite books, and I'd like to share the hard cover version with you. Basically it's the story of a little boy growing up, and as he grows, his mommy goes into his room every night after he's asleep, holds him and sings him this song: "I'll love you forever; I'll like you for always; as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." I've read this book hundreds of times, and I still fight tears at the end of it. Now every night Kambry asks for "Ever and Ever." So, to enter the giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment, letting us know your favorite children's book. I also need a way to contact you. I'll draw the winner January 20th. Good luck and have fun!
I dont remember having a fav book when i was a child...... But I do remember reading "My Childs First Bible" to my children. I loved the simplicity of it and the wonderful pictures. When I was reading it, I was learning myself because I was not a beliver...... My girls always asked for it!
ReplyDeleteMy girls favorite books is GoodNight, the illustrations are beautiful. We do have this book, I'll Love You Forever, but have two friends having little boys this month and it would make a great gift! I could spend hours with my children reading books...
ReplyDeleteGreat topic!!!
I love give-aways!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
Right now, Chris is reading Stuart Little to the kids - again. We love that book and the kids do, too!
But my favorite picture book is definately Shaoey and Dot. It makes me cry every time...

Hi Connie,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful Christmas with your family. I'm just getting back to checking my favorite bloggys after Christmas and New Years!
Let's see...our favorite book...
I Love You Like Crazy Cakes, is the book of choice at this time. Anna is fascinated watching us tear-up when we read it to her. She likes to pat us and say that we'll be OK! :) Love this girlie!
Wow, we love books at our house and have so many. I,too...like Shaoy and Dot. Sweet, sweet. Love You Like Crazy Cakes is also one of my top favorites. I cry with that one, too.
ReplyDeleteI love all the books you all have mentioned! I have a 'wish list' on Amazon so I can order more ... and have more giveaways! I want Motherbridge, Just Add One Chinese Sister, A Sister for Matthew and several others. We have the three Shoey and Dot books: S&D, The Christmas Miracle and Thunder and Lightning Bug Story; Love You Like Crazy Cakes; I don't Have Your Eyes; We See the Moon; All Together Now; probably every Lil Critter and Arthur book. We love to read!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a favorite bed time story, but what we do have is a precious few moments before they are asleep. When my four and three year old were baby babies, my mom would come over and sing a song to them that her mom would sing to her. The words go like this..."Doodle doodle I love you, doodle doodle yes I do, doodle doodle you're so sweet, doodle doodle good enough to eat...uhummm, uhummmm. Before my youngest could talk, when we would get to the uhummm part, she would hum it before we could! Now, they know and expect the nightly prayer and doodle song....sigh....
ReplyDeleteWow, a favorite book is very hard. Both of my girls have loved "The Christmas Lizard" by Cory Edwards. It's out of print now, though. Cassidy's favorite book when we first got her home was "Little Quack." I could go on, but I'll spare you!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie!
ReplyDeleteThis is fun. Our favorite book right now is Mama's Wish/Daughter's Wish (adoption story)
It is written by an awesome Mother/Daughter duo. One side is the momma's story in English and Chinese. The other side when you flip it over is the daughters story in English and Chinese. During the holidays it was available thru Pebbleton Press and for every book sold, they donate $5to China Care. It is so sweetly written that I can hardly get through it without crying.
Take Care Friend-
When Isaiah was around 4-5 months old, we started at bedtime routine that included reading "I Love You Through and Through" by Bernadette Rossetti-Shustak. It is so sweet and to the point- every part of my baby is precious and special to me.
ReplyDeleteI also have Love You Forever and do tend to cry like a baby and the boys just look at me like I am crazy. With three boys, we have to have more action than most of these other people have mentioned. I love Magic Boots, I Am Not a Crybaby, Wombat Stew and right now I am really into Llama Llama Mad at Momma and Llama Llama Red Pajama. I can give the authors if you want them.
ReplyDeleteI have so many favorite children's books... let's see. Some of my favorites: Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram ;Daisy Comes Home by Jan Brett(about a little girl in China and her pet duck); Mandy by Julie Andrews Edwards(I read this book when I was a young girl and fell in love with it. It is about an Orphan girl and the wonderful adventures she takes within the confines of the orphanage grounds. I wonder if God was telling me something then?)
ReplyDeleteI could go on and on...can you tell I love to read??
Kim
