At this point it's totally realistic that we will travel in...
!!!!!!Even early March is a possibility.
I'd like to say I'm completely nonchalant about this and not one bit concerned.
Don't get me wrong ~ I'm so excited I can't stand it, and I'm having those pre-Gotcha Day dreams and not sleeping well, not focusing. Can't say that I've started nesting yet...
But yesterday it struck me that we have a lot to do before Khloie comes home!
At the top of the fun list is rearranging and painting the little girls' room.
But when?
At the top of the not.so.fun list is raising funds.
We still need to raise a lot of $.
I know God can do this!
When I begin to waver is when I think I'm in control. (whew, so glad I'm not!)
He's done it before, and He'll do it again!
We've started planning our first Both Hands project, and I'm super excited about it! This week we need to set a date (within the next 6 weeks!) and an alternate inclement weather date. Next week we need to build our team. The week after that we need to have the envelope stuffing party to mail out the support letters. And then the project, which consists of exterior painting trim, eves and gables; replace guttering; rejuvenating flower beds and installing chain link fence. It's gonna be awesome!
We need to order Visas, like today. We've given our older kids the chance to travel with us if they want to, since it really is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Kenzie was the only one considering going, and today she made the hard decision that she can't go due to sports and school. I know it was a really hard decision for her, especially since she traveled with me in 2011 and knows what an amazing journey it is. But it is the responsible choice, and I'm so proud of her.
We need to find someone to keep our Krew. Or several someones to split up the Krew.
Did I mention fundraising? Yes, we need to do that.
We need to schedule doctor's appointments for Khloie, at least with our pediatrician who will then refer us to a cardiologist and neurologist.
Then there's packing...ah, never mind.
I think I'll just start with Visas and the paint project...after work today. Or tomorrow...or...maybe I'll just send Khloie another care package in hopes of getting more pictures.

This is when you need that live in house keeper...someone who can cook for you and do all your cleaning so you can focus on your kids and getting ready. Wouldn't that be awesome? Good thing it doesn't hurt to dream...lol.

ReplyDeleteWe are right there with you. We will probably travel when you do! We have been told March - even late Feb however we are still waiting for expedited passports for our kids who are traveling (I had thought they were still good as long as mine is - wrong - they expire in a few months!). We can't send for visas til those return. We are hoping for March (hopefully over my son's spring break from college - he has gotten permission to miss for this trip but I am worried how this will affect his grades). My husband still has a loft bed to build and I need new bedding for our new daughter and to sort clothes. Getting so excited! I know you are as well. We are still fundraising too. Wishing you all the best!
