And the verdict is ...

... not in , BUT there's good news! Who's that cool dude in front of CIS?!?
Long day? Understatement!
Finally out of the car! Let's feed the baby chicks.

Thank you for your prayers! It was an amazing day, and believe it or not, we got everything done! When you've been to CIS as many times as we have (I think 5), you get a different personality behind the desk each time. Last time we were scheduled an hour apart (from 9 to 11), and Mr. I-have-no-personality-so-don't-ask-me-any-questions-so-I-don't-have-to-shrug-you-off wouldn't even consider allowing us to be printed together. The doors to the immigration officers' offices were closed, and it was very somber. However, this time there were two gals behind the desk who were amazingly helpful! When I told them my history of not clearing and mentioned that I happened to have a background clearance with me, one of them immediately pulled me up on the computer, verified what I'd told her and said she's personally print me, and if she had any doubt she'd ask the orphan officer if I could go ahead and sign the sworn statement to move things along.
She did her best and told me for sure 3 of 5 prints on each hand were good but the others were borderline. So the amazing orphan officer, who happens to be an adoptive mom, took my sworn statement, my background clearance, my phone number and will call me Monday or Tuesday one way or another. Worst case scenario, if the prints are not readable, she's going to CIS on the 16th and will hand deliver my paperwork to our officer for processing! Definitely, prayers were answered!
We made it back for Kaeleb's last post placement visit, and the only downside is we met at McDonald's for lunch :) I also finished reading The Connected Child! By 6:30 we were home with the entire list checked off, and suddenly I realized I have ALL of our dossier docs except the 71H, so I will be sending those to Karla Monday!
Thank you again for your prayers! God is so very good, and He has given us so much!

  1. So glad you got through the fingerprinting somewhat OK. If the person that helped you is who I think, she is wonderful and will follow through. You are getting so much closer to holding your next child in your arms. We are praying for you.
