Adversity

Things are not always as they appear ...
LOL! Forgive your mama, Kaeleb, for posting you in Sissy's shoes.
Seriously, the discussion of another adoption brings opposition, some from those close to us and some from those just too ignorant to know better. While it could give Satan a foothold, we choose to delight ourselves in the Lord and know where our strength and hope comes from. We are advocates for ALL waiting children, whether here in the land of plenty or in the ravages of famine and disease. When asked why we would choose to go to China, Clayton explains it so eloquently by drawing a circle (the Earth), pointing to North America, Asia, Africa, etc, and then asks, "How much more do you think God loves the children here versus the children there?" 'Nuf said! For those who have been so supportive of us or any other adoptive family, thank you!

A certain amount of opposition is of great help to a man. Kites rise against, not with the wind - John Neal

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Heb 12:2-3

  2. Hang in there, Connie and Clayton. You are responsible to our Father for your response to what he has asked you to do - not anyone else.
    Love you!

  4. Connie,
Isn't it funny how people can be so supportive and "impressed" when a family adopts 1 child, "wow! What an awesome family..." when that same family adopts #2, "really? y'all are incredible?" when #3 comes home, and then when the family is dreaming of #4 it's "are you kidding! That's not fair to your bio-kids..."
Connie - some people will just never understand! Thankfully we don't have to answer to them - we answer to our heavenly Father! And he will provide for the entire family!!!
We are so excited to support you on your newest addition!
    Are you going SN again?
